Fusion of Western orchestral instruments ranging from harp, choir, saxophone, bass clarinet and flugelhorn with Eastern classical and folk instruments like bansuri, sarangi, chaturangi and percussion tuned to 432 Hz for an optimal relaxation experience.
The aim of THomasso Records is to make music that inspires the senses and natural energies through the meditative space it creates. Several different approaches have been used with earlier releases, from fully scored to completely improvised compositions, always using as many real musicians and instruments as possible. For Santi a hybrid approach was chosen, where tracks (harp, sax, bass clarinet, flugelhorn, piano) were laid down to scored compositions and then given for improvisation to some of Nepal’s greatest masters of flute, sarangi, chaturangi, tabla and vocal. Furthermore an eclectic selection of percussive instruments from several continents (Asia, Europe, Latin America, Africa) were used.
A word about the tuning: Instead of using standard tuning of A=440Hz all instruments were tuned to A=432Hz for this album. It has been said that 432Hz is mathematically consistent with the universe and is harmonious with the natural resonance of nature. It will support humanity on its way towards spiritual freedom. It resonates with the heart Chakra, repairs DNA, restores both spiritual and mental health and brings your energetic essence into balance, where relaxation is natural and consciousness is expanded. Audiophiles have reported that music in this tuning seems to be non local and can appear to fill a room, whereas standard tuning of A=440Hz can be perceived as directional or linear in sound propagation.
